Mixing green and white FAQ
Mixed as paint, green and white make a green (#64C888). As light on a screen, they make an off-white (#E7FFEC), and blended in CSS with OKLCH they give a green (#98C5A0).
Light adds up instead of absorbing, so green and white light make an off-white (#E7FFEC). That is why screens can show bright yellows from red and green light, while the same paints would turn brown.
Change the ratio. Three parts green to one part white gives a green (#42B069), while one part green to three parts white gives a green (#8CDCAC). To lighten the result add white, and to darken it add a little black.
Use color-mix(in oklch, #1E8C45 50%, #FFFFFF 50%), which gives #98C5A0. OKLCH keeps the middle of the mix bright, while mixing in sRGB tends to turn it gray.
