Mixing purple and pink FAQ

Light adds up instead of absorbing, so purple and pink light make a pink (#FFA8ED). That is why screens can show bright yellows from red and green light, while the same paints would turn brown.

Change the ratio. Three parts purple to one part pink gives a purple (#9655B6), while one part purple to three parts pink gives a pink (#CE8BC0). To lighten the result add white, and to darken it add a little black.

Use color-mix(in oklch, #6B2FA3 50%, #F4A6C0 50%), which gives #B767AF. OKLCH keeps the middle of the mix bright, while mixing in sRGB tends to turn it gray.
